Delivery in action: City hands over title deeds in Morningstar, Elsies River

08 September 2024

The City’s Human Settlements teams were on the ground in Morningstar, Durbanville and Elsies River this week to deliver title deeds to beneficiaries right on their doorsteps. The Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim, with teams in Human Settlements delivered deeds to doors and celebrated with the new homeowners.

The City of Cape Town is delivering title deeds to qualifying beneficiaries in all areas of the city. This week, the City’s teams delivered title deeds to residents in Morningstar and Elsies River.

‘It is a privilege to celebrate with thousands of qualifying residents as they receive their title deeds to their homes from the city. Our title deeds homeownership programme continues to restore dignity through homeownership and we are empowering beneficiaries one area at a time.

‘We have been in many areas over recent months and we will continue to build a brighter future for our residents through this programme. Over two months in June and July, we delivered an amazing 2 000 title deeds through our deed-to-door campaign.

‘The City thanks residents for their support and for helping us spread the word. We have about 12 000 title deeds to go and we are slowly reaching this goal, one title deed at a time. Residents are encouraged to reach out to us to find out more about our title deeds programme or to visit us at the Cape Town Civic Centre, 2nd Floor Human Settlements Kiosk Monday to Friday between 09:00 – 12:00,’ said Councillor Pophaim.
